So, who is this guy, anyway?
Tutor Ted, aka Ted Dorsey, graduated from Princeton University in 2000 with a degree in English literature and a minor in theatre. Back in high school, Tutor Ted scored a perfect 240 on the PSAT and a 1600 on the SAT. In January 2006 he added a 2400 on the new SAT. In May 2008, he scored a perfect 800 on both the Literature and Math Level 2 SAT Subject Tests.
Before launching his own test prep company, he worked for two other test prep groups. When he realized that I had insight into the SAT that went beyond the course material he was teaching, he began to write his own SAT curriculum. Since then he has gone on to write curricula for the SAT Subject Tests in Literature and Math Level 2
Ted is also the coauthor of a series of books for young readers called "The Emotes", available at Borders Bookstores and online. To learn more about Emotes, click here.
Ted has found that students achieve the most when they enjoy what they are studying, so a principal element of the Tutor Ted tutoring philosophy is to keep students energized, motivated, and (gasp!) entertained while they study for the SAT.
Tutor Ted and his staff offer individual and small group preparation for the SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests in Literature and Math 2, ACT, and a variety of academic subjects, including organizational/homework help, all math levels from arithmetic to Calculus, English and writing.
Tutor Ted alumni have gone on to colleges like Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Penn, Duke, Brown, Cornell, UC Berkeley, NYU, Northwestern, University of Chicago, Notre Dame, Oberlin, St. John's, USC, and UCLA.
